When you use your LinkedIn login details to Sign Up, your work history and other details will be automatically inputted into your goLance profile.
Don’t worry; you can still edit your work details by using this method. If you do not have a LinkedIn account or prefer to sign-in without one, fill out your first name, last name and email address. Then choose a password and click the “Sign Up” button.
Jobs can be structured either in terms of milestones or on an hourly basis for longer-term projects. Both the freelancer and the client must agree on an hourly or fixed-price milestone, which is set up before the project can begin.
It is important to keep in mind that goLance jobs are paid differently depending on their structure. For hourly positions, clients will pay at the end of the week, when all of the hours for the week have been submitted. The goLance job categories include Accounting & Consulting, Admin Support, Customer Service, Data Science & Analytics, Design & Creative, Engineering & Architecture, IT & Networking, Legal, Sales & Marketing, Translation, Web & Mobile & Software Development, and Writing.
There are also subcategories within each main job category, which is what freelancers select when they join the platform. Freelancers are able to select up to 10 different subcategories and work within them. An example of subcategories would be blog writing, business writing or academic writing, under the “Writing” main category.
